RUNNING ERRANDS...

Wednesday, May 29, 2013

The weather around here can be a little abnormal sometimes, actually pretty much all the time. Lately we've had some cool rainy mornings and warm afternoons.  I went to run some errands the other day and needed a light weight jacket and some shoes I didn't mind getting a little wet.  It also meant a ponytail kind of day.

Jacket-last year/Banana Republic, Tee-Madewell, Skinny Jeans-last year/Banana Republic Factory, Shoes - Gap, Sunglasses-old/Burberry.

WEEKEND RECAP...

Tuesday, May 28, 2013

What a fun-filled and jam packed weekend we had! It was so nice just to relax with each other and spend some time with all of our friends.
We started out the weekend eating breakfast at our favorite local Urban Table.

I was in a dessert for breakfast kind of mood so I had chocolate chip pancakes.

London was in a I want to see EVERYTHING going on kind of mood.

Later that day we had a BBQ/Housewarming party for some friends to go to.  I was ready for some cocktails so we decided to get festive at home before we left.  I found these star straws on a new website I've discovered and am OBsessed.  One can never have enough fun straws! I also bought these lids that screw onto mason jars and have a hole in the middle for your festive straw.  A perfect party cup!

Since this was London's first Memorial Day I thought it only appropriate for her to have a new outfit. I think I was more excited about the outfit and taking a picture than she obviously was.

The next night we had another dinner with friends at their new house and I only hoped London wouldn't have a meltdown. She was actually a little peach that night and we even managed to get in an impromptu family pic.

Memorial Day was started with Nathan's whole wheat waffles, fresh berries, and fresh squeezed orange juice from our new juicer which I LOVE!

All in all it was a fantastic weekend and a memorable one. Hope yours was just as great!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

Happy Memorial Day to Everyone!

What a great day to lounge around, grill out, and just chill with the family. It's also a day of remembering those who have fought for our country and put their lives at risk for our freedoms. I'd like to thank all the service men and women out there but I'd especially like to thank and pay tribute to my three men who have served!

Nathan my Love, served in the US ARMY  in IRAQ.

My Father Bill, served in the US NAVY in Vietnam.

My grandfather Terry, US ARMY served in WW II, Korean, and Vietnam Wars.

Hope you enjoy the day with your family!

J. CREW STYLE SESSION

Friday, May 24, 2013

Last night I went to the J. CREW STYLE SESSION to check out the new Summer line.  This was the first time the KC Plaza store had done this and it was lots of fun! Besides being able to see all the fabulous things for Summer they had sips and snacks for the stylish shoppers to enjoy!

My very Personal Stylist and real life friend Sarah already had a room decked out for me when I arrived.  I was hoping to get a few fun pieces to carry me through the Summer.

I am loving all the colors and J. Crew has definitely mastered the art of print mixing. I ended up walking away with these really cute pieces for the Summer and can't wait to wear them!

 Postcard Mini Skirt
The cutest little outfit for a BBQ or dinner with friends.

Chambray Dot Peasant Top
This top is ultra versatile to wear with white, dark, or colored denim. And, I love anything chambray automatically screams comfort! Plus hides the muffin baby top as I like to call it pretty well!

Thanks Sarah and can't wait for my next Style Session!

HAPPY 3 MONTHS!!!

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Time for another monthly update! My precious little lovey is 3 months old today! Where is the time going? This was a very exciting month for all of us and it was a month filled with lots of firsts for London.

1. First plane ride down to Texas and she did phenomenol! I even had passengers congratulating me at the end of the plane on how well she did. Thank you very much!
2. First time on a boat out on Lake Conroe.
3. First time meeting her Uncle Brett.
4. First birthday party for her BFF Addison.
5. First time sitting in her Bumbo.
6. First time sleeping in her crib.
7. First time going to the farmers market.
8. And, last but not least.  This isn't a first but it's continuous now. She's  sleeping through the whole  night! I hope I didn't just jinx myself by saying this!!!

Happy 3 months!!!

JEWELS OR EGGS?

Monday, May 20, 2013

Last month I went in search of a going away gift for a friend who was moving to St. Louis.  My idea was to find her something fun yet functional for her new house.  I found this cute gem at Anthropologie and thought what a great jewelry holder.  It's technically an egg crate but tomato, tomatoe, potato, potatoe.

You can use it for your rings.

And, it's absolutely perfect for stud earrings.

But, if all else fails she now has a place for her half dozen eggs.

Closet Rehash Part Deux...

Drum roll please....

My clutches have a new home in this shoe organizer from Loew's

Blazers and Cardigans for the Spring/Summer. I moved my Winter ones to another closet since I am not using them,  giving me more room.

My jeans and pants that are in constant rotation.  Ones that I haven't worn in more than a year went to Goodwill.

Tanks and skirts.  The clear hangers for pants and skirts were bought at WalMart.

Dresses hung by color, style, and fabric.  I even bought a little white stool to help me reach things on the top shelf.

And the shoes. Organized by flats, sandals, heels, and down to boots. So, like I said it's not my dream closet but it's an organized closet.

What can I organize next!!!

Closet Rehash Part Une...

Thursday, May 16, 2013

A few weeks ago I decided our bedroom closet needed a major makeover.... There was shit clothes laying all over the place- on the floor, halfway hung up, handbags being mistreated by being thrown on a shelf, it was an utter disaster.  I am actually embarrassed to post these pictures of what it looked like, but I am so excited for the AFTER pictures that it's worth showing. Here's what I was dealing with:

See these jeans here- half-ass folded and just thrown on a shelf.   How can I tell which jeans they are by this?

Where do I start with this picture? Handbags thrown up top without any consideration.  Shirts just hung up without any order.  They should be hung up by color, fabric, and style. Also, the different color hangers are annoying. So, I switched to all white hangers and I felt a little better.  One day maybe I'll have all fabric hangers.

Again, more handbags-  my mess of clutches spread out everywhere.  Poor sweet things.

Last but not least the shoes.  Again, no organization at all. These should be by season, color, and style.

Now, I wasn't looking to rebuild shelves or anything, mostly just organization.
It took an entire Sunday from 2-9 ( London was at grandma's so this was possible) but I finally got it done!  It's not my dream closet by any means but at least it's organized.  Stay tuned to tomorrow's post for the after pics!
